Version
2.9 released 12-25-2005
WxByte
1.
Removed the date/time display in the menu bar.
This was causing a problem with Internet Explorer.
The Alt text associated with images would not display when
the time was displayed in the menu bar.
2.
The Server IP address box will now display a red background
when the program is not connected.
3.
Added a Show Detail menu option under the file menu.
This option will expand the window to show the connection
details and text received window.
Weather Message Server
1.
Will properly process file names ending in txt, gif, jpg, zis,
zip, bmp, png and tif. All
others will default to txt.
2.
The debug screens for WxPost, WxFtp, and WxFax
remember their last screen positions.
3.
Changed the delimiter used to send multiple vtec lines to the
client.
4.
Added code to distinguish between P-Vtec and H-Vtec.
5.
Will no longer show a button in the task bar when the server
is displayed. There was
no need, since it appears in the system tray.
6.
Now verifies the VTEC ending date. If it is before the message issue date, the UGC expire
date/time is used. (This
gets around a problem with the TCV product – which has no VTEC
expiration.)
7.
The $Issued$ and $Issued24$ variables will no longer be
changed to the VTEC event start time.
They will work as they did prior to VTEC. New variables have been added to handle the VTEC event
beginning time.
8.
When VTEC options are used with “No State” specified, the
program will use the first UGC group and VTEC line that matches the
VTEC options.
9.
When VTEC options are used with “State Only” specified,
the program will use the first UGC group that matches the state and
the first VTEC line that matches from that group.
Weather
Message Setup
1.
The archive option now allows you to specify the variables $FileName$
and $FileExt$ to use the original emwin file name.
This allows for wildcard alarms for archiving to a ftp site.
Note: Archiving
to a local directory already stores files with the emwin file name.
2.
The pager group setup screen now has a button labeled
Services. The button is
used to setup Service Providers.
Instead of having to repeat static information on each group,
the pager group setup screen now has an option to select a service
provider. A conversion
program creates the services based on the current user
configuration.
3.
The setup program will now verify that pager, email and fax
groups are not used on an alarm before allowing the respective group
to be deleted.
4.
The Paging Services setup now supports Http posts for paging
scripts. The posted
variables are entered in the http post data text box.
They are entered in the format variable=value. Two replacement variables can be used to insert the pager pin
and message. Use $Pin$
to insert the pager pin. Use
$Message$ to insert the pager message.
5.
The Email Groups setup screen now has a button for email
options. Several of the
items on the main screen have been moved to the email options
screen.
6.
Added backup server information to the Email Options screen.

a X10 device. It also
has an option to select the type of X10 device (CM11 or CM17).

10.
Updated the VTEC Phenomena with the latest information.
11.
The Alarm Setup screen now allows you to enter X10 settings.
12.
The Paging Services setup screen now validates the service
for invalid characters.
13.
Updated the zone file with the latest marine information.
14.
Updated the zone file with the latest county information.
15.

16.
Added the product EQI, Earthquake Information Bulletin, to
the product.dat file.
17.

the TCP/IP subsystem. This
is the system that sends data to the connected clients. The default value is zero (0) for no timeout.
The minimum value that can be entered is 30 seconds.
18.
The Options window now has a field to record the server name.
19.
A new variable has been added to the Short Message VTEC tab.
$vEventStart$ and $vEventStart24$ can be used to include the
VTEC event beginning time. $vEventStart$ is start 12 hour time format, while
$vEventStart24$ is in 24 hour format.
20.
Revised the VTEC flags in the product.dat file.
Available for download on the website.
Will be included in the final 2.9 release.
21.
The VTEC Phenomena selection list will no longer sort the
list while you are making selections.
The list will sort initially and when you click in other
fields.
22.
The Email Options window now has the option “Append
Time”. This option
will append the current time to the email subject, when a subject is
associated with the message. This
assists customers that need a unique subject to activate forwarding
with Outlook.
23.
The Short Message variable $vEventStart$ and $vEventStart24$
will be blank if the event start time is zero.
24.
Corrected a problem in the Print Alarm routine that prevented
the report from being completely printed.
25.
Removed the requirement to have a state and county for VTEC.
When VTEC options are used the message must have VTEC in
order to be alarmed. This
is the same requirement as state and county alarms.
26.
Inactive alarms will display with a yellow background
in the main alarm grid.
27.
The Short Message setup now has the variable $Action$.
This variable can be used to insert the word “Issued” or
the appropriate VTEC action into the short message.
This variable will be normally used to replace the word
“issued” in the short message.
28.
Added the following short message variables for Vtec: (*)
$Start$
$Start24$
$StartDay$
$StartDayAbr$
$StartMonthName
$StartMonthNameAbr
$StartDayNbr
(*) For non-VTEC
messages, these variables will be the same as the issued date /
time. For VTEC
messages they will contain the event starting date / time.

Existing users will need to download the map base install
from the miscellaneous downloads page.
3.
The internal routines now view each product as a VTEC
product.
4.
References to AWIPS identifiers, used internally, have been
changed to VTEC phenomena and significance.
5.
The Other Colors setup screen will now all you to enter a
VTEC phenomena plus Significance for coloring other products.
The map will now evaluate the VTEC information first, then
AWIPS product identifiers.

The active county list box will now remember the last size
and position.
7.

status bar.
8.

showing until the phenomena start time occurs.
9.
Changed the Other Colors tab to include VTEC wording.
