Sounds
The following sounds can be used with the
Message Client. These sounds were found on the web from sites that
advertised them as free.
Updated
Map Base Files 8-19-2005
To get an updated map base files (county
outlines), click on the following link
Map Base Update.
Updated FIPS Product File
11-2-2007
To get an updated FIPS product file, right
click on the following link and select "Save Target As".
WxCType.dat After
this file has downloaded, copy it to your ..\WxMesg directory, overwriting
the existing WxCType.dat. This file contains a list of products
coded as FIPS.
Updated
Product File 11-22-2006
The product file contains the product prefixes
and descriptions for all products present on the EMWIN data stream.
This file is updated as new products are added by the National Weather
Service.
To get an updated Product file, for version 2.7 and up, right click on
the following link and select "Save Target As".
Product.dat After
this file has downloaded, copy it to your ..\WxMesg directory, overwriting
the existing Product.dat. For versions 1.0 through version 2.6,
using this link

Sample WxWords.dat - For Parsing Messages
Here is a sample WxWords.dat file created
by Tom Moore, WX4TM. Right click on the following link and select
"Save Target As". WxWords.dat
After this file has downloaded, copy it to your ..\WxMesg directory, overwriting
the existing WxWords.dat.

Map Legends for WxMap
If you are using WxMap to update a web
page, you already know that you have to create your own map legend.
A sample map legend has been created by Todd Sherman, KB4MHH. Click
on this link to download

Map Landmarks
If you want to see the position for each
Radar Site, Weather Forecast Office, and Weather Service Office, download
the following following file for the version of Weather Message that you
have installed. Right click on the following link and select "Save
Target As".
For Version 3.x WxLandMarks.xml
, for Version 2.X
WxLand.txt
Save it to your Weather Message directory. For version 3.0, "C:\Program
Files\WxMesgNet". For version 2.x "C:\Program
Files\WxMesg". This will overwrite any existing landmarks.
The radar sites show up in black, weather
forecast offices in green, and weather service offices in black.
If the radar site is located at the weather service office, it will be
displayed in black.
Thanks to Jeremy Ruck, WM9C, for providing
this landmark file. He gathered and entered the information for
each of the 229 sites.
